- Equipment: Rode NT4 and SD recorder
- Weather: Light wind, gently lapping sea
- Description: Kay Morrisson from Dún Laoghaire has been tuning in to A Sound Map of Dún Laoghaire for some time now. Kay got in touch requesting a sound recording of the sea to help send her off to sleep.
- We were very happy to oblige and this sound recording was made at the shoreline of Killiney beach as the light faded away on a warm late September evening. This edit has been taken from around an hours worth of recording during which the tide went out. I removed the sounds of the trains and occasional passer-by so as to focus on the movement of the waves breaking on the shoreline and the smaller sounds that occur like the movement of pebbles and the fizzing of foaming salt water. We hope that you and Kay will enjoy it and maybe on occasion it may help send you off to sleep.

- Equipment: Sony PCM-D100
- Weather: Sunny, light wind rising and dropping
- Description: Local resident Sam McGovern contacted us during April 2017 asking if we could include a recording of "the steely chime of the Venetian clock tower at the bottom of Marine Road, the main sound I have always associated with Dun Laoghaire. Might that be a sound you'll record soon?” This recording was made directly across from the Town Hall, just before tea time on a busy day during May 2017. Before the chime from the clock tower sounds (approximately 30 seconds in) you can hear busy traffic, workers on their way home, skateboarders over at the Pavilion Theatre and some excitable visitors to the area. The Town Hall bells are followed by the sound of the bells of St. Michaels Church, located at the top of the road.
